Maintenance of the roadway system includes; periodic paving and repair of the roadway system, maintenance of roadside drainage systems, snow and ice removal, sweeping and removal of street litter, implementation and maintenance of roadway signage, maintenance of roadside sidewalks.

 

In addition to general highway maintenance, the highway department picks up residential brush and leaves, and operates a composting facility at the Highway Department. Recyclable metals may also be picked up by the department (by appointment only). Construction and demolition materials should be taken to the C&D Landfill.
